When I first started watching the Food Network, it was at a culinary stage where everything was "deconstructed"...Deconstructed Caesar Salads, Deconstructed Bread Pudding...
My first Thanksgiving at my in-laws, I made Deconstructed Pumpkin Pie...I took all the ingredients of pumpkin pie and mixed them with cream cheese and it became a dip. I served it with graham crackers. My husband's family all ran to the window to see where I landed my spaceship.
I have since backed off of my deconstructed phase, but I still like to play with things. I was thinking about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and was trying to figure out how to get them on a stick. Then I started thinking about fondue.
I love fondue. I like when food becomes an event, and fondue is just that. It's an experience in eating. I've had fondue in three courses: cheese for appetizer, hot oil for main course, chocolate for dessert. Shooo, it was amazing.
So, once again, my trusty friend, Google, came through for me and found a peanut butter fondue recipe. How awesome is Google? Really awesome.
Amy, fondue? That sounds so...out of your league.
Trust me, Dude. Google never fails.
Start by heating brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter
Just on low, just melting the sugar and butter.
Add peanut butter, marshmallows and evaporated milk...
I put it in a bowl and swirled chocolate in it...I figure a little chocolate never hurt anyone....
I got together a bunch of things that are awesome with peanut butter:
Hey, Amy? Where's the bacon?
Dude, I'm totally out of bacon...it's like, an emergency situation here...
Get some skewers, put them in a pretty glass...we are ready for some deconstructed crap!
Deconstructed PB + J:

Now, didn't it look like I had waaay too much fun doing that?
It wasn't an act...I did this all morning. That's why I'm so late to post!
Here's the recipe:
Peanut Butter Fondue
Adapted from a recipe found at gofondue.com
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 tbsp butter
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
2/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Heat on low while stirring. After the butter and sugar have melted, add marshmallows, peanut butter, and evaporated milk. Continue stirring until ingredients are melted and smooth. Stir in vanilla and serve.
Serve with apples, bananas, pound cake, angel food cake, marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, bacon...whatever ya got.
Seriously, this is pretty amazing and really fun for a party. Try it!
OMG! I'd be grazing on this all afternoon!! LOL
